Not literally, but I forgot about Crohn's Thursday. That must be a good thing, right? Nah. I'm just sick of talking medical and it was Valentine's Day. The What's Love Got To Do With It? Blog Hop, is about love so let's just see where this blog takes me. The last time I blogged about Crohn's was a couple of weeks ago. It was when they discovered my heart has a bit of a glitch when it comes to timing. You see, it beats too fast. Way too fast. And no one knows why. It's not afib because the beats are regular. I know because I got to watch it on the monitor, and they told me. I'm curious and I have a medical background. I wanted to know each and every single thing the tech highlighted. Now they have me on meds to slow down the heart rate. I've gone from 150 beats a minute to 100. . Better than the alternative, right? Next week I go in for more thyroid tests. I guess when you have immune related thyroiditis you can experience episodes of hyperthyroidism and hypothyroidism. A couple of really cool things have happened. I HAVE FINGERNAILS. I've never had fingernails in my life. I painted them blue just because. And I have eyebrows. I lost them after the chemo treatment a few years back and thought they were a casualty. Nope, now they grow so fast I have to pluck every day. I'd forgotten how much I hated that. On the diabetes front, I had my blood sugar sky-rocket to 300 after eating ONE tortilla. That was with medication. I'll be finding out if the diabetes is autoimmune related in a few weeks, too. I have to say that one day my blood sugars are fine and the next they will be all over the place even eating the same foods. On the Crohn's side, well, it's there. It's always there. *yawn* Sorry. That's the meds for my heart. Makes me tired. Yesterday, I was up for one hour on the stationary bike and 1/2 hour on the treadmill. Considering I couldn't even THINK of doing that back in December proves thyroid treatment works. I am so stoked. Aside from my regular bout of screaming I am too young for all this, I am coping. The writing life is good. I just finished Gemini Two, The Light and the Flame, and am waiting to hear which editor to send it to. I LOVE this book and I think you will, as well. I saw a 3 start review for Gemini Rising on Amazon and the reviewer said there would be more stars if the book was a series. Well, it is a series and book two is done. Yay! As I said yesterday, love is made up of simple things. Can I get you some coffee? How are you feeling? What would you like to do today? How can I help you? It's my daughter coming up for a visit and leaving the guest quarters cleaner than when she came. It's about a daughter-in-law bringing over your favorite food or the other daughter-in-law calling with tid-bits of medical information. Sometimes it's about keeping your mouth shut about the pain or the doctors visits because you don't want to stress or worry those you love. It's about grabbing those days when the sun is shining and heading down to the lake to do some fishing with the grandkids even if you don't feel up to snuff. On Facebook yesterday I saw comments about how people hated Valentine's Day, that it's all about the money, the evil corporations, the stock market. Ah, no. Valentine's Day is what YOU make it. My husband and I never spend a lot of money. A bit of chocolate, a few flowers, and we say I love you, every single day. We never forget our blessings, our wonderful children and grandchildren. We have a roof over our heads and enough food to eat. We give to charity, Thank you for stopping by. Have a wonderful weekend filled with joy and laughter (((hugs))) Louann :) P.S.
