Vegas.
So, we won't discuss my sister-in-law. My adored niece was married on Friday. All her life she wanted the Brady Bunch. Now she has it but they're all girls. Eweee… I have to say, I've never seen her happier. It's as if all the dreams she had through the years have come true and it was with tears in my eyes, that I said a prayer for her and her new husband for many happy years together. Wendy glowed as she walked down the isle, dressed in white, her mother and brother at her side. A candle was lighted for Brett's parents and Wendy's father, all of whom lived very short lives. They were greatly missed by all and I'm sure that somewhere, somehow, they were there to enjoy the union of their two children. All the girls were bridesmaids and were just beautiful. Already they've bonded and their sisterhood brought wonderment and beauty to the evolution of family and friends that were brought together. Of course this is not counting the grief a gaggle of girls will give you. Five of them; imagine the cost; high school dances, dorm rooms, college, and weddings. It's enough to give you the shivers. Since it was my first trip to Vegas in over 20 years, I was shocked, amazed, stunned, and overwhelmed by the people, the buildings, and the slots. Yeah, I love those penny slots that really aren't penny machines at all. I lost a bunch, made it back, and lost some more. I learned a lot these last five days. 1. The trip from Penn Valley to Las Vegas should not be done in one day. 2. Do not trust the food in small town restaurants. 3. Remember that Vegas is warmer than Penn Valley—by about twenty degrees. 4. Never, ever, leave your garbage inside when you're gone more than overnight. Congratulations to the Jack family. My best wishes for you and yours. Christmas should be awesome with all the new family members. If not down right expensive.
