The World Has Gone Insane

12/3/2015

Islam like Christianity has its roots in a violent past. Christ did say, "I did not come to bring peace, but a sword."

Mohammad said, "And kill them wherever you find them, and turn them out from where they have turned you out.  Fight them until there is no more disbelief and worshiping of others but Allah."

Throw a little Judaism into the mix and you have a pot full of trouble.

So, what do we have here? Three religions who espouse war. Or so it seems. The Palestinians want their land back, the Jews want a home, the Islamic State wants a caliphate, and the Christians just want the whole thing to go away.

Worst of all is that we did this to ourselves. We had no business being in Iraq or Libya or Pakistan or Afghanistan. The people who drove those planes into the twin towers were Saudi. And we're still friends with them. What this is about is oil. Give me a horse and buggy and I will give up my car. Oh, wait, our homeowners association won't allow horses.

Do you not see how senseless this is or is it just me?

I see bumper sticks that say Let's all Get Along or PEACE or whatever. You can't have peace without all things being equal. People are people and I don't care what religion they are they are going to be jealous or judgmental if you don't walk lock step with them. It is the nature of being human.

However, you still have to wonder what makes a young man, newly married, with a six month old go into a building to kill fourteen people and severely wound seventeen more. I get he was there for a Christmas party and maybe he had issues with the party or the fact that his coworkers weren't Muslim or whatever, but to just walk out of the party and come back with his wife both dressed in military gear with go pro cameras and assault rifles to murder people is insane.

The entire world has gone nuts as far as I can see.

You have loons selling baby parts and you can say they were doctored videos but I have it on good authority this happens. Frequently. So get pissed at me. I don't care. WE DO NOT SELL BABY PARTS. PERIOD. You do not crush them up high to save the heart or crush them down low to save the brain. Good God, this is insane. And you do not let babies die between their mother's legs when they could survive with proper medical care.

I thought Americans were a compassionate people who came to this country to find freedom and to spread this freedom as far as possible.  Our military is in a shambles and they can't even get good healthcare.  We send them to countries who do not understand our ways and when they are hurt we bring them home to die, some by a lack of medical care, some by suicide.

I am at such a loss.

Tomorrow's blog will be about a young man dying of heart failure because his co-pay is over 100,000 dollars. I though the Affordable Care Act was for people like him. I was wrong. We used to let in refugees from war torn countries and never ever expected them to kill us because we didn't practice their religion. Can you see Protestants and Lutherans battling it out over a sword? Now our government spreads terror and fear and bombs and drones. We kill women, babies, fetus', and children along with their fathers and grandfathers.

Add all that up and throw in the debt our country has to service when interest rates go up and you have hell on fire. We cannot pay our debts the way things stand. Only war will generate enough income to keep America alive.

We are Americans first. Not Progressive, Liberal, Conservative, or Libertarian. Take some time and think about what is going on.

I have a sign on my refrigerator that reads Accept and Adapt. I am having a hard time accepting and adapting to what our country has become.

You're missing a very important point in this. Of the three major religions on which you have focused, one, Judaism, did not resort to murder to impose its beliefs on others. Never has. Never. Indeed, the important distinction in Judaism is that you will be judged ultimately by what you do. In other words, anyone, regardless of their religion, can live well if they live an ethical life even if they learn their ethics from a different source. Christianity and Islam believe that you will be judged by what you believe. Indeed, the last minute repentant is an ideal among them. Rape, murder, and pillage all your life and you too can be saved at the last minute by simply adopting the correct belief. That being said, only Islam has clung to its Stone Age ways while Christianity outgrew them hundreds of years ago. Now then, let's turn to the belief systems you neglected. Hinduism, Buddhism, et al. Why did you avoid them? Is it because they simply don't fit your world view of madness? The lesson here is don't oversimplify and throw up your hands in disgust (unless of course your oversimplification is a strategic decision).

Hi, Jack. Thanks for responding. Being that I am partially Jewish I stand corrected but what you responded to was not my intention. I wasn't in the mood to examine every religion and Mt blog was not about comparing all religions. I was trying to make the point of what a mess the middle east is in. That is all. Nothing else was intended. So I suppose you can call it strategic. I am a Christian and have studied comparitive religions. My point was simply: the world has gone nuts. As always, I value your opinion.
