The Power of Words

<--- Simple. Words are powerful.

Writers respect the power in their hands and fingertips. People read what we write and take a part of our imaginations home with them.

More than one person has said that A Shadow of Time gave them nightmares. Frightening scenes in a novel makes powerful story telling. Think, The Stand, Earth Abides, and other apocalyptic novels.

I write about things that could be, or might be, true. Physics tells us other dimensions exist--not in the sense that reincarnation is true, but more as if veils hang between our worlds, disguising the fact that time doesn't exist at all. Perhaps we move between worlds in our dreams, influence other selves, change lives, and perhaps, live again in a better place and time.

Maybe all we need to do is step sideways and the veil is drawn for us to enter another dimension. Maybe we do that everyday of our lives.

Kinda creepy of you think about it.

As writers we use those words to evoke strong emotion in other people. We take readers for a ride that might change their life. A Shadow of Time snapshots the lives of four people that move between dimensions, each influencing other lives. At the end we discover that not all dimensions are born to survive, but souls do go on.

It is good to say that when each of us sings our final song, only love remains. As it is only love that makes all dimensions one.
