Please drop by Loni Lynne's place and find out what gets my mojo going here! So, our own Constance Phillips (known to those who love and worship her as Connie) has tagged me in The Next Big Thing Blog Hop. I get to answer all these questions about my next book, The Light and the Flame. It's the sequel to Gemini Rising. From Connie: 1) What is the working title of your next book? The Light and the Flame. You see, when Noah and Kate get together sparks fly. *grin* 2) Where did the idea come from for the book? In Gemini Rising One, Kate is near death. Noah arrives and whisks her to safety, but he cannot take the children with them. Due to their sudden disappearance, I knew I needed to create worlds that can be traveled by physical bodies through time and space. These bodies must change in relationship to the worlds around them. I did some research and came across the stages of heaven discussed in the Torah and other esoteric writings. These worlds became the next stop in the saga of Kate and Noah. I threw in a great love, a little mythology, a few demons and angels, and The Light and the Flame was born. 3) What genre does your book fall under? Paranormal Romance for sure. Gemini One is more apocalyptic but life does go on after the end of the world. 4) What actors would you choose to play the part of your characters in a movie rendition? Johnnie Depp (so-swoon-worthy) and Christina Cox (tough and strong). 5) What is the one-sentence synopsis of your book? Facing death, the loss of her children, and the disappearance of her bond mate, Kate Kelly fights the powers of Hades to reconcile with the Light and bring about a new age. 6) Will your book be self-published or represented by an agency? The Light and the Flame will be published by Crescent Moon Press. 7) How long did it take you to write the first draft of the manuscript? About six months. I nit pick over every sentence which drives me nuts. Then I have to pace my office, sit back down, and re-read the paragraph. 8) What other books would you compare this story to within your genre? Well, I've never read anything like what I write--that's why I wrote it. My books are a combination of the paranormal, romance, a dash of horror, a smidgeon of mythology, and biblical prophecy. I throw it into a mixer and see what comes out. I am also interested in theology and archaeology and that appears as well. Some authors/books that have influenced me are: 1. Earth Abides--George R. Stewart 2. Rosemary Rogers 3. Stranger in a Strange Land 9) Who or what inspired you to write this book? My first editor at Crescent Moon Press, Hannah. She decided Gemini had to be a series and encouraged me to write two more books after the first. The Light and the Flame is the second book in the series. I took a year off to write A Shadow of Time, a book that clamored to get out. Oh, and then I wrote Redemption, which I'm thinking I might self-publish. The first book in the Redemption series is about a child who can see the future and because of that descends into drug addition. It has romance and passion, and the female police officer who also stars in the book will develop Crohn's disease in the sequel along with having paranormal abilities. I have decided that ten percent of all proceeds from the Redemption series will go to the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation. 10) What else about the book might pique the reader’s interest? Gemini Rising One takes place in the future, where fireplaces are outlawed and freedom is restricted. Earth is turned on its axis during a planetary upheaval, and Kate, and her son, Ryan, are sent back to Earth to assist in the creation of a new world.. After the birth of Lucia, a special messenger from the Light, Kate is saved from near death by her bond mate, Noah, and father to Lucia. From there, in The Light and the Flame, they enter the Olam where angels rule and learning to become a proper bond mate comes from trial and tribulation rather than love. I loved writing The Light and the Flame and the third book in the series is already started. I have discovered some things about Lucia I never knew existed. As an emissary from the Light, she comes with more conflicts than a body has a right to. For next week my tagged author is... Loni Lynne, author of Wanted: One Ghost <---- Check out her website next Wednesday! Loni Lynne believes fate determines our lives and we are just along for the ride. Holding on tight, she's managed an eclectic life of moving all over the country in her youth, seeing sights and places her dreams still take her to every now and again. Writing stories since she was thirteen and dreaming of actually writing a book since that time, fate took over, giving her a chance to find material and experiences to write about. Upon graduating high school, she served her country in the United States Navy where she met her United States Army hero/husband in his hometown of Annapolis, Maryland. After being stationed in Hawaii for their first four years together, they returned to settle in Maryland where they still live, Happily Ever After with their two princesses, who prefer to play with dragons instead of running from them. Four years ago, as a birthday gift, her husband gave her a portable hard drive, a membership to Romance Writers of America, and the challenge to have a completed manuscript by her next birthday. She did it and then some. Now, she can't stop writing. Happy reading! (((hugs))) Louann
