The Intolerant Left vs the Dogmatic Right

Update

I am sadly watching the events unfold between Iran and Iraq. Since I no longer have faith in the American people or any government in the entire world, I don't see this ending well. However, if Iran keeps their response limited, and there are no American casualties, there may be a way out of this situation.

I had the unfortunate experience of running into someone from the The Intolerant Left. I have also run into The Dogmatic Right who are just as bad. It amazes me how much the two resemble the other. Having an open mind is paramount to becoming a healthy human being. It allows the person to change and grow. 

During this FB face off, this person also used terms like idiot, orange man, and other degrading terminology toward the President of the United States and then toward myself. He was aghast that I was not responding to his sagacity. Instead, I have always taught my grandchildren that the minute you reduce yourself to name calling in any argument you automatically lose. They lose a lot. So do college educated UC Berkeley graduates whose vocabulary is at a first grade level at best. 

Another Intolerant Left persona tried to use his loquaciousness to engage in an argument of intellectual brilliance that did nothing to address the situation at hand. He too resorted to first grade level bullying to show how ineffective my argument was. I informed him that he lost the argument as soon as he became disparaging and defollowed him. I can't stop being friends, it would be too hurtful to me. Maybe not to them, however. 

When did intelligent people decided name-calling is appropriate? 

I am not far right and I am not far left. If anything I am a centrist. I have had multiyear business experience so I am financially conservative. If I had given my employees everything they wanted and needed, they would not have had a job to come to as I'd have been out of business. 

Is medical care a right? Yes, I think so. I have several chronic diseases and I worked until it was no longer physically possible for me to continue. To say they carried me out is not an understatement. So, yes, COBRA is hugely expensive and Covered California is a joke as few doctors will accept it.

I also believe in doing away with state and federal income tax and either do a flat tax or a sales tax. For those who buy little they would pay little, for those who style change every month, they are going to pay more. Seems fair and equitable all the way around. 

An election gone awry or so they say

​The US has an electoral college which is how Trump was elected.  Our electoral college allows smaller states to have a say in all elections. That means the West and East coasts of the United States doesn't get to chose the president all by themselves. No matter how much they whine. Read Federalist Papers here. 

The last several presidents have systematically destroyed the middles states of our country by agreeing to ridiculous trade agreements. Chaos and violence reins in our larger cities like Chicago and Detroit. San Francisco, LA, New York are filled with the homeless who urinate and defecate wherever they wish. Shacks go for a million or more in California so there is no place for anyone with modest means to live. The liberals who have governed these states and cities have utterly failed in their governance while the conservatives have cut food stamps and welfare to those in need. 

How could I, as an HSP personality give my allegiance to either side? I can't. I don't believe in war. If the Middle East wants to blow itself up then it can. We do owe Israel so we would have to help protect her. Six million Jews were murdered in Germany as the world sat back and watched. They deserve a homeland and a safe one. Perhaps it is because I am an HSP, but by God they deserve to stop running. Besides we have Ashkenazi genes in the family.
