Is that there will never be peace in my lifetime. I thought once we hippies grew up that others around the globe would grow up as well and that peace would be the norm for all. It didn't happen and it sickens me. This past weekend I spent time with my mother-in-law. On her coffee table was a book on peace that my soon-to-be-nephew-in-law had left behind. It was a book on how to create a society of peace and how to export it to the rest of the world. It went on to explain just how those with much would give to those with little. This book was required reading for college. Inside this little book were all the things I subscribed to some forty years ago. I read the back and the front, obviously the author hadn't evolved past the sixties. Somehow, she had kept her mind uncluttered with the reality that exists in the world today and was trying to export her reality into my nephew-in-law's head. Good luck with that. He has an intelligent mind. It wasn't as if I didn't agree with everything she said. Yes, we can create a utopia on Earth. It can be done and it can be done right now! Except, the author doesn't take into consideration our humanity. Those with much, will eventually become resentful, and those with little, will demand even more. Soon acrimony will start, then you will see it played out on the city streets and eventually it will lead to civil unrest and war. It's been tried over and over again and it never works. We are, in our reptilian mind, hunters and protectors of our clan. It will take eons to get that out of our system. If I can find the book I will post it otherwise you can find it yourself, but I guarantee you it isn't worth reading. This book, this belief system, is simple brainwashing. It sounds good and it looks good and it feels good, except it won't happen. And now you will find out why. | There will always be war. 1984 by George Orwell--a discourse on negative utopia. A HIGHLY recommended read. Today we are watched as we cross the street. Our cell phones watch us and record where we go. Even our television sets can watch us and no one thinks a thing about it. At least, mostly no one. I care, but I don't know if there is anything I can do to stop it. I believe it won't be long before our minds can be read. If you break down the human body biologically it works very much like a computer. After a time we will just need to flip a switch to read someone's mind or someone else may flip that switch to see what we are up to. 1s and Os. That's all there is folks. On and off. You might be wondering why there will always be war. Because it is profitable. AND it keeps the populace occupied. Simple answer, but then the truth is often quite simple. Think Occam's razor. You can rest assured that our colleges and even our government (I don't care which side you subscribe to) will try and tell us how wonderful peace is. But let's face it people, the only thing they really care about is money. At least in my opinion. Back to George Orwell. In 1984 Winston Smith is a low-ranking member of the ruling Party in London, in the nation of Oceania who is always at war. The biggest threat at the moment is thoughtcrime. You can't speak or think anything other than newspeak with is a new language brought about to eliminate all words associated with political rebellion. Nowadays we call it political correctness. 1984 is a great book about the nature of utopia and human beings. I advise you read it then let me know what you think. On that note, my blog will end. I will get tons of emails telling me how wrong I am, but that is the nature of things. As I say, I write about things that might be true. In this world or the next. Have a great week! |
