I don't usually blog on Wednesdays, but I thought since I live in California, or better yet, in the foothills of California, which means we are almost in the mountains, but not quite, technically speaking that is. In any case, I wasn't taking the BIG STORM too seriously until my home owners association sent me an email alert to let me know sandbags were ready for pick up at the bus stop near the golf course.
Do you know how many times I have prepared for the BIG STORM? Too numerous to count. On the other hand, I've never had an email alert from LWW before either. The last known BIG STORM was in 89, I believe. Everyone was snowed in for 3 days. Around here, that's a big deal. For me? That doesn't sound too terrible. Books by candlelight, a fire, nowhere to go and no need to get up and do anything. Of course, I don't wish any bad thing on anyone such as landslides, flooding and such, but every time they tell me the BIG STORM is coming, it fizzles. Although, as I reckon back to my childhood, I seem to remember lots of flooding and rainstorms. I guess we've gone rather dry here in the Golden State. Back to my book. Oh, we weren't talking about my book? Well, shame on me. Gemini Rising is still .99 cents over on Amazon. I'll leave the link for y0u here so you can quickly buy and download it. It's only a dollar and it took me a year to write. Not such a good ROI if you think about it. My friend crochets stuff and she's had more sales than I have and her slippers and mittens are 15.00! I need to learn how to knit. Oh, heck, I know, I know, crochet. While you are busy buying my book, I'll be staving off the BIG STORM. Of course, the oak tree over the propane tank decided to lean slightly today. The guy we called to come look at it can't get it until after the BIG STORM. So, if you don't hear from me, I'll be chopping up an oak tree instead of reading by the fire. Have a good one and stay out of the way of the BIG STORM. Comments are closed.
