How to get a lackadaisical mind working after the holidays? Head on over to Writing Exercises and take a whirl at the random subject generator. Whatever pops up on the generator is what you have to write about. I've never done this before but I need to get the brain working in the creative direction and thought I'd give this a try. You have to be able to write without stopping and without censoring. You can read the blurb on the page or the bottomline is that writing this way can help you breakthrough blocks of self-criticism and fear of failure. So here goes. 1.2.3... Write about a good day you've had recently Actually, today is a great day! I learned that my children can take care of themselves. (habitual editing already) No really. I have raised some pretty awesome kids. And in turn they've raised some really fabulous grandchildren. Two sons are in business for themselves and are very adept at what they do and my daughter, well, she's Shannon. She's awesome. (no editing here) I am very proud of my kids. Their strength continues to amaze me. I often look at myself and wonder how I did it. Well, OK, we did it. And you have to throw God into the mix. Couldn't have done it without him. Over the years I've had to learn how to give things up. Stop worrying. Just give it all over to God so I don't stress anymore. This has given me better control over Crohn's disease and my problems are solved far better than if I'd try to do them myself. I am grateful for my faith. It is stronger now than ever in my life. When I saw that Mark Zuckerberg actually made the claim to be a Christian I thought thank God. Finally people are stepping out of the closet. But seriously, you have to admit that declaring your faith nowadays is tatamount to calling yourself ignorant. However, I spend countless years studying religion. Ask any of my old friends. Hour after hour, in class out of class, studying physics, and using my brain to see the world in a different way. Once you do that you discover that really there is no choice, but Christianity. Christ is about love and forgiveness. That's it. Anything more and you are embellishing. A guy asked me the other day if I was saved. My answer? No more than the rest of the world. Let's face it. Living isn't easy. It's hard and complicated and full of experiences that can drive you bat shit crazy. If you want to believe there is nothing to this place and that your thoughts, actions, and demeanor don't matter. Go for it. It's a free country. Or at least it was. Serious. Today is a great day. Nothing really happened that is special. I just woke up feeling grateful for our kids. My husband and I weren't always the best team. I was too easy and he was too strick, but it worked. Not that we haven't had troubles, all families do. But sometimes something happens that probably isn't all that important in the grand scheme of things, but it makes you feel so grateful for the blessings in your life. Like, I have a Ford with all wheel drive. I'm sure I'd remember the name if I thought about it but I can't think. I can only write, but I'm thankful the car got me through the snow and slush yesterday. I am also thankful my dogs. Yep. Aggie and Bella Aggie is deaf and Bella is blind in one eye and the other eye isn't doing t0o great. Bella hears for Aggie and Aggie sees for Bella. They are joined at the hip those two. Where one goes the other follows or visa versa. Silly animals they are. Today the snow is gone and the rain is enveloping the world in a gray foggy cloud. This is nice. Haven't seen this kind of weather since they started spraying the sky. Oh, wait, that's a conspiracy theory. Well, whatever. Hey, that's sarcasm. Now I need to get back to work on my novel. Really I do. I am having anxiety issues. OK so today is a great day and now I am ending my good day subject. I correct two punctuation marks and that's it. The rest shall stay as it stands. Probably messing and not making a lot of sense, but this is truly random. Thanks for reading. Comments are closed.
