Standing on her deck she looks across the mountain toward the sea

She wonders if the pain will ever leave

Love is strong, stronger than the crashing waves upon the shore

It leaves her worn and battered bitter angry and forelorn

They do not understand a monument of grief cannot be born

It carries with it chains that pull her down wrapped around her ankles her flesh is bloodied with their scorn

They cannot see the agony she has become

Dressed in shades of purple, lavender and lace

She stands against the storm with gentleness and grace
