So great to have you on today, RL. Tell me, what inspired you to write "Crashing Into Me"? I guess I'd just had this story in me a while and I wanted to actually get it out of my head and onto the computer. I also wanted to tell a different kind of story where everything wasn't steeped in cliche's as well and decided it was time to do it. 0.0 Don’t give away any secrets, but what’s your book about? It's about two people from very different backgrounds, but have a lot in common as far as baggage. They get forced into each others space during a snowstorm, and the insanity begins lol. Sounds like fun! How did you come up with the title? I had about ten different ones before deciding on this one. I used a theme in the book, that described physicalities as well as the emotional elements the main characters experienced. After a ton of research making sure the title wasn't taken, I ran with it. Do you have plans for a new book and/or is your book part of a series? This will be apart of a continuous series, but I do have other projects in the works as well. How long does it take you to write a novel? Thats a good question. This one took a few years because of school and work obligations. I have a much shorter timeline planned for the sequel which should release in June. What do you think makes a good story? Real drama, realistic situations. And try to be unique as much as possible. Yep, I agree. Do you have a day job? Writing is it at the moment. Writing is enough of a challenge without a day job. Tell me, what is your work schedule like when you're writing? I don't have a set schedule, but when I'm writing its not uncommon for me to write from 8pm to 4am, then the next day write from 11am-3am the following day. It just depends on where I am in the story. You like all nighters. :) Is there anything you find particularly challenging in your writing? The only thing I find challenging, is questioning whether or not someone will love or hate what I'm doing. I've gotten better at accepting that you can't please everyone, but the fear still sneaks in from time to time. Oh, yeah. My book, Innocent Blood, is not for everyone. Everyone thinks it is about vampires when it's about addiction. I should have come up with a different title. But hey, you win some and lose some. So, do you work from an outline or just write? I outline everything several times, with different story options. Then I choose fone or mash them up until I get something that makes sense or an enticing story. How do you market your work? What avenues have you found to work best for your genre? That's a tough question as right now, doing interviews on blogs is my only avenue at the moment. I plan on branching out into book tours soon, it'll just be a matter of whats the best fit for me. Fun Questions: If you were a car, what kind would you be? 1950's cherry red Chevy, convertible of course White wine or red? Red Coffee or tea? Coffee in morning. Tea at night Vanilla or chocolate? Chocolate Dogs or cats? Awe I can't choose! Sleep in or get up early? Sleep in!! Thank you so much for being on my blog. I really appreciate it and good luck on your novel!
