Innocent Blood was a hard novel to write. As I researched the book, I discovered drugs addicts with souls that shined like the sun and police officers with hearts like stone. There were times I threw up my hands in disgust and despair.
Obviously the book is fiction, but it is a close look at one family whose deeply ingrained world view is shattered by the reality of drug addiction. Innocent Blood has a happy ending, but there are many families who continue to grieve the loss of loved ones to an international drug trade that fills the coffers of many.
Filled with mysticism, introspection, and love, I hope my latest novel touches you as it has touched me.
