The nightmare begins…
Two girls lost on a lonely country road.
One killer thrilled with an unexpected opportunity.
Two families desperate to find their lost children.
One girl…lost
One girl remains…
Until a young boy joins her…
And discovers the Boogeyman is real.
LOVED this book! Sorry I am so late to the party, but July is more of a blur than reality. Losing someone you love is never easy and plays a mind game that has you wondering why you put the peanut butter in the fridge.

I loved the blurb about The Boogeyman as much as the novel itself. The blurb is different, therefore eye catching. It gave me a good start on the novel itself.
Anyone who knows me knows I love horror and Lillie's latest does the genre proud. The Boogeyman is listed as YA but the book will entertain everyone. Thankfully it is not a slasher mess of a novel. Those I can do without. It's the psychological horror that does it for me and The Boogeyman meets my requirements.
Lillie J Roberts has a very sensual way of writing. The words are like satin sheets that flow over freshly shaved legs. Granted that's a weird analogy, but it fits. Her words fit and aside from a few random things that don't bear to be listed, I enjoyed The Boogeyman VERY much.
The novel is basic, two girls missing, parents worrying and a psycho killer who stops at nothing to get what he wants. Yet the words thread a captivating horror story you cannot put down. Ms. Roberts lives up to her reputation with a solid horror novel for young and for old.
Congrats on being the book of the month, Lilly!
