Editing...

I am still editing and editing gives me a headache. Consequently, I don't have much to say this week. However, I will comment on the process of editing.

It seems like just when you think you are done, another idea pops in and insists you either add it to your manuscript or face the wrath of a thwarted brain.

I've gotten to the point where I actually listen to my brain. It seems to know more about being creative than I do.

Sometimes, my brain just pisses me off.

Now the brain is not the same thing as the mind. The mind is me, the brain, that thing I was born with. It's sort of like a giant file drawer that stores things you like and lots of things you don't need.

Like, who cares about algebra. I don't. Sometimes when I can't sleep my mind throws mathamatical problems my way. I can't answer them because I'm too tired, but it tries anyway. I think my brain likes to keep me awake.
