This week I thought I'd post some helpful links. We'll start with a free magazine you can sign up for here at Crohn's and Me. I've already received one and was impressed with the quality, and the price, in addition to valuable information. Some great Facebook pages are: Living with Crohn's Disease: I visit here often. The posts are not shared with 'friends' and you get to chat with lots of other people suffering through the same things you are. Plus you will find some valuable advice. Then there's the It Takes Guts site. Another great place to hang out with people just like you and me for that matter. I borrowed this cute little cartoon from their site. It caught my eye because I do know my shampoos ingredients and since I've worn out my poker machine...
And then we have THE GREAT BOWEL MOVEMENT! I can't believe I actually wrote that. And in caps, too. Sheesh. These are some mega brave people. I stand or rather sit, in awe. And, of course, the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America. There are tons of places to find the help you need. You just have to overcome the angst you feel when discussing Crohn's. Did you know Crohn's can affect other parts of your body? Like your eyes, your back, your pancreas, your kidneys, your skin? And more? It can and it has--at least on me. My back, my skin, my pancreas. Eh, it's not all about the intestines you know. So, if you're shy, like me, you must educate yourself. Then, speak out for a cure. I know it's not easy, but it's necessary. I've seen some extremely brave young teenagers/young adults showing off their ostomy bags. They decorate them and lift up their shirts for the world to see. We older folk owe it to them to find a cure. They want to get married, have children, be healthy and who can blame them? Certainly not me. Rock on for a cure! (((hugs))) Louann

I was just diagnosed with Crohn's at 23 and have just started getting infusions of Remicade.mfor the past three months I couldn't keep food down and I was miserable. Especially not knowing what was wrong with me and feeling alone. Thank you for posting these links. I'm going to check them all out! It's nice to know we're not alone.

No, you are not alone. I pray there will be a cure for you in the future. You are so young. Glad I could be of help. Comments are closed.
