I love the study of ancient civilization. Do you? Have you wondered who the Sumerians are? What are the Anunnaki? Is it possible ancient aliens visited Earth? Could the events in GEMINI RISING actually take place?  

GEMINI RISING--The book  

In our near future, the poles will shift, turning Earth on its axis. The Gemini Observatory discovers the planet Nibiru crossing into our solar system. Due to governmental interference, the world's population remains ignorant.  Kate Kelly and her son Ryan, chosen by the Light to be the recorders of this cataclysmic event, are stunned after discovering a new archaeologist at an Anasazi site in Arizona is in fact from another planet. Sent to guide them, Noah, with help from The Counsel, reaches out to Kate and the survivors of Earth. From this assistance is born a great love, ushering in a child to lead a new galactic age.     

Cool Information and links: In Sumerian mythology the Anunnaki were a pantheon of good and evil gods and goddesses who came to Earth to create the human race. While writing GEMINI RISING, which, by the way, came to me in a dream, I wanted to explore what it would be like to survive a pole shift. I also wanted to tie in the planet Nibiru as I'd studied Zecharia Sitchin's theories several years ago.

Sitchin, http://www.sitchin.com/, who passed away in 2010, was born in Russia, raised in Palestine, and graduated from the University of London. He held a degree in economic history and worked as a journalist and editor in Israel before settling in New York. He also believed in aliens, the Anunnaki, and the planet Nibiru of which GEMINI RISING is all about. He spent a good portion of his life studying Sumerian texts. 

According to Sitchin, Sumerian chronicles describe a war in the heavens between the beings of Light and the beings of Darkness. Kate and Ryan Kelly are beings of Light. Rathor, Noah's nemesis, is a being of Darkness. This ongoing fight will conclude in the second book, Gemini Rising, The Olam Yetsirah (Place of Angels.)   

The Anunnaki, the inhabitants of Nibiru, a planet that crosses our solar system every 3600 years, first arrived on Earth almost 500,000 years ago. They established a mining operation in South Africa and the gold was shipped to Mesopotamia where a space port was set up to transport it to Nibiru. (This was a little hard to swallow, but hey, I'm all for a good story.)  

Humans, it is theorized, were created by the Anunnaki to assist in the mining operations. The Anunnaki created human beings  by genetically engineering Neanderthal DNA and their own. Later on, they intermarried with newly designed human beings. Zitchin's books, the EARTH CHRONICLES, expands the topic and if you are interested they are available on Amazon or on his web site.   

Cool Information and links: The Phaestos Disc has captured the imagination of amateur and professional archeologists, and many attempts have been made to decipher the code behind the disc's signs. Some say it is the Anunnaki written language.

Of course, reading all these theories is a natural precursor to one terrific nightmare. The morning after GEMINI RISING was born  in my imagination, came with an upset stomach and a great need for enormous amounts of coffee. Then, I began to write.  

Kathryn Kelly is caught in the middle between her son and husband after witnessing a UFO shortly after their move to Sedona, Arizona. Jason, Kate's husband is an archaeologist studying a newly discovered Anasazi dig and does not believe in alien lifeforms. There is mystery surrounding the Anasazi as well. It seems they disappeared off the face of the earth and some people think -- alien's took them. Of course, to discover the answer to that mystery, you will have to read GEMINI RISING, but I'll leave you with the name of a beautiful Native American who lives on board Noah's ship, Woman Who Walks With Light.  

Kate's sighting escalates the tension between her and her husband as she hates the desert heat of Arizona and misses the fog-laced city of San Francisco. She is haunted by nightmares of a red planet crossing Earth's path and strange names like Anunnaki. All she wants is to escape back to her old life.   

A few days later, Kate visits Jason's site where she runs into Noah who it will turn out is an alien being from the planet Naresh. Noah and his people were sent by the Galactic Counsel to assist Kate and Earth during the crossing.  

Just before the pole shift, Kate and Ryan are taken on board the Nekoshta where they await the time to return to Earth. Jason, Kate's husband, is left behind by his own choosing, stubbornly refusing to believe Noah, Kate, and even his own son.   

On board ship, Noah and Kate begin a passionate relationship that encompasses them both in ways never imagined. They learn they are bond mates, souls bound together by the Light. Before Kate discovers she's pregnant, she and her son are sent back to Earth to record the effects of the crossing.

Packed with prophesy, pain and passion; with love, devastation and renewal, Gemini Rising is the memorable introduction to what promises to be an epic intergalactic/interdimensional series that will rock sci-fi readers to the core.  This first book is set in the near future in the United Socialist States. America is plagued with many of the consequences that today’s conservatives believe we will face if our government continues down its current liberal path.  Yet, as frightening as this future world becomes, it didn’t once occur to me to put this book down. Simply put, it's one of the most amazing, yet unsettling books I’ve ever read.  For Ms. Carroll, it’s a crowning achievement, so masterfully written it can do nothing but win every award for which it’s certain to be nominated.
