Update: It's been a couple of hours and I'm up two likes on Gemini. I just did a tweet that directed my followers back here to see if they'll like A Shadow of Time for me. As of right now, I wouldn't say this is a GREAT technique. With the Muse Online conference coming up in the next few weeks, I did some thinking about creative marketing. As a reviewer myself, I know it takes a long time to write a review that is more than just a few sentences. You want to be able to capture the nuances, the 'voice', the story itself. But there's another option to help an author move their book up in the ranks, and that is the often underused, LIKE button. To the right, and just underneath the title on Amazon, you'll find the LIKE button. Just click on it once and it will record that you like the book. (You can click on my make-shift LIKE button to see what I mean.) Of course it does go to my latest release, A Shadow of Time. From Amazon: The count next to the like button on the product page is the total number of Amazon customers who have liked that item. When you like something, it increases the total number of likes for that product. Which is a good thing! Today, I did something I've never done before, but did see a fellow author in Australia do through Twitter. I sent out a request for some likes on Gemini Rising. I'll report if I receive any extra likes by using that marketing technique. When you hover over the like button you will see links for FB and Twitter. That is an easy way to help spread the word on that particular book Now I'll FB a request for Gemini Rising. I currently have 34 likes on Gemini on Amazon so we'll see if it rises. Later today I'll Facebook and tweet for A Shadow of Time. Currently, Shadow has 24 likes. This is a fun marketing experience which I'll share with everyone once I see the results. It may require more than one tweet and I did leave the request on my FB author page which doesn't have as many followers as my regular FB page. By the way, if you're in the mood, please LIKE my FB author page, too. Happy reading! *hugs* Louann Comments are closed.
