Well, I did it. Yesterday I said good-bye to the electronic world and hello to myself. It was a rather strange experience as I'm so used to marketing or being on FB, or tweeting, or whatever. Yet, it was also very very nice. I never realized how even when I'm responding to an e-mail or a post there are voices in my head talking. I actually hear the e-mail or post and my response. So, when away from all the electronic noise, my world is rather quiet.
So, quiet, I started thinking about these two portraits (see above and below). I believe they are a mother and her two children. The pic below the children is the artist name and the SF is, I believe, San Francisco. They used to have French rococo frames, but they flaked to dust many years ago. I would really like to know who they are. My mother-in-law gave me the charcoal drawings. She received them from her mother-in-law. We believe her mother-in-law purchased them from a thrift store about thirty years ago. I have made up many stories about these portraits, but they always leave me wanting. I would be happy to donate them to a museum or even to someone who knows how to care for them. They are, I believe, charcoal on canvas and the detail is astounding. So, if you can help me, I would sure appreciate it. Comments are closed.
