Being sick at home, I decided to go into free Kindle world to see what was available on Amazon. I wasn't expecting much, actually I didn't expect anything at all especially from a zombie book. However, after looking at the 300 plus reviews, I thought I'd give After The Cure a try.
I thought for sure the formatting would be off and the novel filled with misspelled words and wonky contractions. Aside from the usual its it's problem the novel was beautifully formatted, easy to read, and amazingly well written. I know nothing of this author, but I can guarantee I will be reading the rest of the series. She is too good to pass up. About the book After The Cure takes place eight years after the December Plague has decimated the world leaving the cured and the immunes struggling to cope with a past where those infected ate those alive and the immune did what they had to do to survive. Civilization is struggling to come to terms with the past and the stage is set for the trial of the century where those who invented the novel virus that created such havoc will be tried in the courts and the reasons for such a diabolical scheme will be brought into the light. I loved the set, the scene, and the science behind After The Cure. Reality is quickly tossed aside once the characters are met and you have bonded with them. The courtroom scenes are excellent and the premise become believable the more you read. After The Cure went beyond my expectations and it is with great feeling, I give this author a five star review. About the Author Deirdre Gould lives in Central Maine with her three children and husband. She's also resided in northern Idaho, coastal Virginia and central Pennsylvania, but all of them just led her back home. The winters sure are cold, but that just means the zombies run slower. The area is isolated, but that just means the apocalyptic diseases don't spread as quickly. And the storms are bad enough that no one thinks you're crazy for "prepping." It's kind of ideal for a post-apocalypse writer when you think about it. Want to keep up with the After the Cure series?
