A Writer's Life Interrupted #crohnsdisease

Sometimes you have to wonder. Four docs, four different opinions. Which one is right?

Beats the hell out of me.

​They all agree on one thing. I have a severe Crohn's flare going on. So when it comes to which came first, the chicken or the egg, does it really matter as long as what is needed is antibiotics?

Nope.

The next hurtle is food. I haven't eaten since Monday and do not plan to eat until I can do so comfortably. I will not put this body through that kind of pain again. I don't really know how I am going to start eating because the very THOUGHT of eating scares the shit out of me. Literally. The mouth only has one ulcer, but BLAM! As soon as it hits the stomach all kinds of scary shit happens. Bloating, pain, more pain. So today? No food. We will see what tomorrow brings.

At times like these I am grateful to have my writing to fall back on. Hat tip to God here. Oh, and to pain medication too. And lest I forget, Sierra Nevada Hospital. Awesome job folks.
