You will probably have to cut and paste the link as my linker is on the fritz. All proceeds go to a gentleman needing a heart transplant. The stories are about a young girl named Jenny living in a dystopian future where genetic experimentation is the norm. I found it to be very unsettling to write. Sometimes I wonder where these stories come from.

And with that, life without Remicade begins.

My last infusion was Dec. 18, 2015. This past Sunday I had the worst day yet. The pain was overwhelming but I got through it. The swelling went down yesterday and even more today and those are all good things.

The resistant staph was better too. But today I woke up with another compromised digit. I slathered it with antibiotic cream and bandages, but what has happened before is that the tenderness, redness, and swelling gets better for a few days then comes right back.

My daughter asked me why I get so negative. She challenged me to think positive so I peppered my computer with positive words. See photo.

I sure as hell don't want to go into the hospital. The combination of massive antibiotics simply overwhelms my system and C-diff scares the crap out of me--no pun intended. :)

So, what can it hurt to keep positive words plastered over your computer.  I am up for anything.  Even when I am sick I do life. Except for that pepperoni pizza I ate five or so years ago. That laid me out for a few days when my grandchildren were visiting. Haven't touched a pizza since. #truth

I would put my pain level at a four today. Not bad enough for a pain pill but annoying nonetheless. In keeping with my daughter's wishes I expect it will improve.

I have blasted through numerous treatments over the years and I have few options left. Thinking positive is a positive so I will give it a shot for as long as I can. I am SCD compliant for the most part, but it is time to get serious again.

And on that note I shall end with one caviet. My daughter is awesome and I  am thinking she might be right.
