Somehow spending new year in the hospital was not what I'd intended. I had visions of making tamales with the nieces and gkids then ringing in the new year.

When I woke up this morning, I knew it was going to be a rough day. By mid-afternoon I knew the hospital was in my future. By the time the CT scan came back I had come to peace with hanging around such sweet nurses, one of which was named Shannon Lee Carroll.

The CT scan showed significant inflammation of both the colon and rectum. Actually, the doc said it was the mother of all flares. But what does that mean? It means a possible colostomy bag until the rectum heals. But then there's colon issue. Wait to see if it improves or not then cut it out.

Lots of decisions have to be made over the next few days. If you have spare prayers hanging around. I sure could use some.
