Well, I used to have Crohn's. OK OK OK, I know Remicade just masks the symptoms, but really, who cares? For the first time in over ten years, I've had a normal week. No bathroom rushes, zero night sweats, no fever, no nothing. I seriously don't know what to do about this. I have no idea what normal is like. I started freaking when I went a couple days without using the facilities. For someone who visited the restroom 10-15 times a day, not to use one in a few days is well, eventful! And scary. Not a single medication I've been on has helped me this much. Not even a tiny, itty-bitty, teeny weeny, bit. I am like NORMAL! I've started experimenting with foods. Beans were first because they are a nice easy way to get protein. That would be for most people, not for me. No more beans--not even now. I ate a tablespoon of vanilla ice cream and not only did it taste awesome, I handled it well. I ate a salad and yes, that was doable, too. Eggs are good, hard cheese is good, grape juice (no sugar added) is good. I ate some steak, some chicken, and some pork. Red pepper (check) green pepper (check) yellow pepper (check). No corn because it's genetically modified. I have decided that no processed foods will enter my body--ever--so those are on my no eat list, as are carbohydrates. Most carbs anyway, like bread unless it's a treat day. My rule of thumb is: if there is something on the ingredient label I cannot pronounce, it goes back on the shelf instead of in my cart. On another note, I will finish up my first pass edits today and The Light and the Flame will be back on its way to the editor. So, in case I'm too busy having fun instead of writing another blog, my weekend reads is Gemini Rising------> buy link over there, somewhere, so you can enjoy The Light and the Flame as soon as it comes out. Blessings to everyone! Louann

Since I failed all the other drugs, I'd kind of given up hope. It is so nice to have that now. I am grateful.

I am enjoying it. In fact, I'm still trying to wrap my head around the whole thing. To go from being so sick to a semblance of normalcy in such a short time is mind boggling.
