I admit to being a trifle nervous. I am now on my 5th antibiotic with no results. The stuff that worked on my left hand is not working on my right hand. At all. Seriously, I am running out of options. Thank God the infection is and appears to be staying localized because if this spreads it will be a bugger to deal with.
Today I have a different kind of pain. It is more of a dull pain instead of the pulse beat they usually have. It doesn't hurt to type because the infection is not on the pad of the finger. I would post a picture but it is seriously gross. My poor GP is stymied so I will be calling my gastro who deals in Remicade infections to see if he has any ideas. I also get to report the Crohn's is causing me additional pain. If this keep up I will be down ten pounds by the end of the day. I also have a headache. Not that it is worth mentioning. Omg. I miss Remicade. I have been driving myself nuts trying to think of how I picked this up. It started with an infected hangnail. I went into the office, my PA gave me Amoxicillin, a few days later the infection was gone. One day after finishing the antibiotic and the infection appeared on three fingers of my left hand. Keflex stopped them, but the infection didn't go entirely away. One day after I finished Keflex my right hand became infected. First one finger then two then three now four are infected. The left hand by this time is completely healed. First I was on regular Bactrum, then high dose Bactrum, now back on Amoxicillin with no change. I even developed a new spot on my pinkie finger. It is more of an abcess though. For a writer this is scary so I try not to let my mind go there. Unfortunately I cannot control nightmares. Plus my fingers hurt. And I am tired of the pain. If there is anyone reading this who has had this challenge with Remicade I would LOVE to hear from you. Comments are closed.
