Please, click here: Goodreads Ghost Story list to vote (or not) vote for A Shadow of Time. Last I checked, Shadow was just beneath the Canterville Ghost at number 23. Granted, it doesn't take much to get you there, but my goal is to supersede Stephen King.

I am enamored of horror writers such as Stephen King, Dean Koontz, and Peter Straub. I have read every book each of them has written. I have been known to eat (inhale) a gallon of ice cream (back in the old days and always chocolate) while reading one of their books. They thrill me, scare me, and keep me company when I'm not feeling well or even when I feel great.

They are the reason I wrote, A Shadow of Time

Since I'm goal oriented, this is one I plan to make, take a screen shot, then leave the list to the fates.

Why?

So I can show my grandchildren that making and achieving goals is possible. I'm a little known writer in a sea of self and traditionally published authors. I write horror, sci-fi, and paranormal romance. Odds are, no one will know who I am in the next twenty years, but this is one way I can encourage my grandchildren to read and write, if that is their passion.

I already have one budding writer in the family. Joshua (He's also in Gemini 2, The Light and The Flame). He's my oldest son's second son. He wrote his first book in the third grade. The amazing part is that it was good. He had an awesome teacher who had it bound for him. I couldn't have been prouder. Then there's Noah, (who is also the male lead in Gemini Rising.) He's a voracious reader and at 13 he's hard to keep in books. Thank heaven for Kindles.

Kate, Katheryn's namesake in Gemini Rising, is also a reader. You can just bet I'll be showing her that her grandmother's book is right underneath Odd Thomas or The Shining. For most non-horror readers those books are probably ones you avoid, but I love the spookiness, the chill of fear, and the haunting aura that surrounds me when reading. Believe me, those books make my life look and feel like a piece of cake.

Maybe that's why I read them.
