While working on the third and final book in the Gemini Rising series, a fourth book has come to mind. I was baffled when all of a sudden I glanced down at the page and discovered Lucia had a son.
Sometimes, weird things happen that way. Especially since I don't work from an outline. Oh, I create the world they are living in then add in some color and spice, but when it comes down to the characters, they always blow me away.
They have minds of their own and this can get seriously annoying. Now I don't know what to do. Will there be a fourth book? Possibly.
Within the wild, weird, and wonderful would I live in, I not only have to rise to the challenges regular life gives me, but also to the issues my characters thrust upon me. Lucia wants to be married and have a son who will rule the universe. Why couldn't she have been satisfied with governing Naresh? Why does she dream of more than what I had planned to give her?
I wonder if this is how the gods feel.
The world Lucia has inherited is rough and rebellious. Easy times are gone and if you want something you must work to get it. Self-reliance is key as is sustainability. Lucia lives in a somewhat temperate climate, but her bond mate comes from up north where ice and snow are constant companions. To get there, a narrow land bridge must be crossed that links what was once Arizona to the mythical Mexico.
Now that that's off my mind, I thought I'd share a few weird things I found on the Internet today.
1. China removes 1,000 dead ducks found in river. Grammatically, that sentence bothers me.
2. 16,000 dead pigs were removed from a river in China. I have nothing to add except, bacon anyone?
3. North Korea is dead set on taking out South Korea and the US. Are they nuts or what?
4. Cyprus bank shutdown hammering businesses. Ya think? And since when is it legal for banks to steal money from customers. Oh, wait, they were uninsured depositors. Oh, yah, that works. /sarc
5. University says student that refused to stomp on Jesus' paper won't be punished. What are they teaching these kids?
Back to work. Lucia has a very focused mind and right now she's demanding to meet her bond mate.
Happy reading!
