What a week!
I had two grandchildren for 9 days and four grandchildren for 3 days. We swam in the pool, floated in the lake, played Pee Wee Golf, watched more movies than I care to count, ate popcorn, ice cream, cookies, barbeque and more. The fourth was spectacular. Lake Wildwood, where I live, puts on an awesome fireworks display. As I rested next to my grandson and listened to his wows, oohs, and screams, I realized there was no place on earth I would rather be.
Then yesterday arrived. The kids were missing their parents. One had a breakdown over Monopoly and the other a breakdown over what movie to watch. They threw mac and cheese, howled their displeasure, and a pounding headache erupted just above my eyes that wouldn't quit.
On top of all that, A Shadow of Time entered the world on Monday just as the heat hit that interrupted my Internet services for most of the week. And because we are bundled, we didn't have telephone either. That I didn't miss.
Fortunately, my back is improving and I didn't have a Crohn's attack. God must have taken pity on me and sent me some blessings.
My brother and his wife arrived on Sunday and they stayed for five days. I love hangin' with my bro. He makes me laugh, though I have to admit that this week he was a bit grouchy. My brother has Hepatitis C and we are waiting on treatment. That's enough to put anyone's nerves on edge. Kaiser ran the Hep C test back in 2008. Somehow his doc missed the test results and didn't discover them until my brother got really sick in March.
Since we've already lost one family member to Hep C and my husband's best friend, the discovery of this disease in my brother has thrown me for a loop. I've worked as an advocate for Hep C before and jumped into the fray with Kaiser feet first. After having a fit on the second floor of Kaiser, Roseville, they've bumped up his treatment from a 6-9 month waiting list to maybe 2-3 weeks. Say a prayer for him that it works. Liver transplant is a rough go for anyone and we hope to avoid it.
Between the kids, the book, and my brother, I'm glad to go back to work tomorrow. It'll be a vacation from this week which I really need.
I like to thank the many people that helped A Shadow of Time come to life and to those that have sent me messages telling me how much they like the book. (Now I just have to convince them to post a review on Amazon.) As I've said before, Shadow has a twist at the end that I just love. If you'd like to read more, click the link at the top.

I'd like to introduce you to Soul Reborn by Jean Murray. Jean has written a fabulous tale that is available for just .99 in celebration of its one year anniversary.
Description
THE HUMAN REALM, HIS BATTLEFIELD.
Asar, the Egyptian God of the Underworld, has been tortured and left soulless by a malevolent goddess, relegating him to consume the very thing he was commissioned to protect. Human souls.
DEADLY SECRETS BETTER LEFT UNEARTHED.
Lilly, fearless commander of the Nehebkau huntresses, is the only things standing in the way of the goddess' undead army unleashing hell on earth.
Now an empty shell of hatred, Asar vows to kill the goddess and anyone involved in her release, but fate crosses his path with a beautiful blonde huntress who has a soul too sweet to ignore. But Lilly has a secret—one she is willing to sell her soul to keep. If the Underworld god discovers her
role in the dig that released the goddess, she will lose everything, including his heart.

I'm in the middle of Simon Toyne's, The Key, which is the follow up book to Sanctus. Once I'm done, I'll post the review here, but I have to say, I'm lovin' it.
Happy reading!
