I ran into a friend of mine yesterday who told me a story I found unbelievable. I have no idea why I still find this so remarkable as I should know better. My friend has upwards of forty acres in Nevada County CA and she was telling me how the Mexican Drug Cartels drop hostages from Mexico onto her property during picking season in October to harvest Marijuana.
How do they do it?
They use helicopters. These poor people do not speak the language and they dare not complain because of their families back in Mexico. After the picking is done they are moved back to Mexico where the process will start again. Did you know a good picker can make 500.00 a day? Not the hostages from Mexico though. I really do not understand why they don't legalize MJ to keep the cartels out of my backyard. Literally. Every once in awhile the feds put up the helicopters and bust a grower--like maybe once a
year.
In the meantime the cartels have free reign. And let us not forget a very dear friend who had to leave her home because of a meth lab law enforcement refused to put down. Moving to the foothills has been an eye opening adventure that is sometimes good and sometimes not so good. I just wish the feds would legalize MJ to get the crime out of Nevada County.
