The staph infections are getting better but now I have a new one on my foot. I also develped these sores at the corners of my mouth and they burn like crazy. The skin inside my mouth burns and I have canker sores too. I have no idea wtf is going on. Hopefully the dermatologist will give me some answers along with my GI's opinion on continuing Remicade. I was not going to miss the big drop off of the gkid and DIL. Sixth grade camp at Point Reyes is the gkid's first extended overnight. I could tell how excited she was by how nervous she was. Even the daughter in law was excited. What a beautiful place Point Reyes is. I guarantee it takes the mind off pain. Missing the gkid drop off at Point Reyes was not an option. But I can't wait for the dermatologist. This situation is beyond the scope of a regular physician. I have new sores, sores at the corners of my mouth and my tongue and stomach burns making me very uncomfortable.
The day has been filled with a little pain covered in sprinkles of happiness. I keep telling myself it is all about learning to dance in the rain. 2/17/2016 07:44:27 am
I, too suffer from IBD. I'm just now on the tail end of a flare, finishing a six week course of steroids and am embarking on a new, even more restricted diet. I had the sores in my mouth, two weeks ago. In the corners of my lips and roof of my mouth, but they healed. I wish I had magical words for you, but I don't. Just know that you're not alone and there are people who understand your pain, your frustration and your misery. There are also people out who understand your courage, patience and strength. I am one. Hang in there. There are always brighter days ahead. Always, always, always brighter days. Sending big, giant hugs in the meanwhile, and I hope you feel better soon.

Thank you for the encouraging words. I am in a funk because the antibiotics can't seem to kick this infection's butt. I have a new rx for Bactrim DS and I am hoping this does the trick. As for my mouth my pharmacist said to mix equal parts of Benedryl and Maalox, shake it up, take a sip and swish it around in your mouth for a time. Did it last night and it numbs the sored. Do not swallow it. Spit when done. The numbing effect even lasts for awhile. The Crohn's journey continues on. TY again. I love hearing from fellow crohnies.
