I rarely host stuff to buy but sometimes when you have Crohn's disease or another IBD, you look for stuff to make you feel better.
It started like this...
I tried to be normal this weekend. That is never a good idea for someone with IBD, but hey, sometimes you just gotta try. I had two drinks, just a wee bit of Vodka when all of a sudden I had an overwhelming desire for...
Diet Coke.
My nemesis. I drank a whole one. A full eight ounces and I enjoyed every single sip. But when I woke up the next day I knew I was in trouble. My stomach was swollen along with my intestines and pretty soon I couldn't eat. We won't even discuss the pain. I know not to do this and I'm seriously thinking of consulting a therapist about my food issues, but sometimes I am OVERWHELMED with a desire for something I know I cannot eat.
Thank God I have Remicade next Monday.
My BFF, Bettysue Laurin crochets and she takes professionalism to a new height. She may have been a newspaper professional, but I love her for her STUFF! With my stomach killing me, as soon as I got home I went for my universal crocheted scarf that keeps my neck warm, next came my slippers, and then my fingerless gloves. Don't tell Bettysue, but sometimes I soak her stuff in fabric softner so I get a good smell on. Of course, when she sent me my stuff, it came smothered in vanilla. Her stuff not only keeps you warm, it makes you smell good too.

So, thanks Bettysue for all you do. Thank you for the blanket you are sending my mother-in-law, thank you for taking time to be a Crohnie's friend. I am so glad I found you.
