​Lyra was the loneliest woman in the world. She carried her pain like a patchwork quilt stitched into her heart. She had always known she could love only one man. One expansive evening, when the night sky held a billion winking stars, she wandered into a forest where the trees glowed faintly, as if remembering a full moon's light. “You found me,” he said, his voice soft with wonder.

“I’ve been looking for you forever.”

“I know. I felt you.”

She reached for him. She was afraid he might dissolve again. But his hand was warm, solid, trembling like hers. 

“What changed?” she whispered.

“You did,” he said. “You became the version of yourself who could meet me here."

The forest glowed brighter, as if celebrating a reunion between two celestial bodies. 

For the first time in her life, she wasn’t the loneliest woman in the world. She was simply a woman who had found the one heart that matched her own.

And the magic wasn’t the lake, or the forest, or the shimmering air.

The magic was that she had never stopped searching and, in her search, she had grown.
